We deliver tailored UPRT Programmes to meet specific airline UPRT requirements. These range from assisting with academic training in order to improve pilot knowledge and reinforce the avoidance of situations that might lead to Flight Upsets, to helping with the design and implementation of FSTD UPRT Programmes, to delivery of On-Aircraft UPRT. We also have a variety of "Train the UPRT Trainer" Programmes.
1. Train the Flight Simulator UPRT TRI
For Simulator instructors to train pilots effectively in UPRT skills. Our training will help TRIs and TREs to review and adapt their Simulator Training packages to more effectively deliver UPRT expertise.
If required, we can spend a day with the delegates on their own organisation’s FSTDs to test and sample revisions to in-house training packages.
Course options can be found on our TRI Training page
2. On-aircraft Training for UPRT TRIs
EASA recommends (but does not mandate) that TRIs delivering UPRT exercises in the Sim should have at least some experience of On-aircraft UPRT so that they can speak from experience and with real knowledge about the psychological and physiological factors that are impossible to replicate in the Sim. The benefits of even a small proportion of TRIs (often the Standards Team) understanding what it actually feels like for real in a flight upset can materially increase the effectiveness of Sim UPRT delivery. Many airlines designate ‘UPRT Champions’ who attend our specialist TRI On-Aircraft UPRT programme and then disseminate this knowledge and expertise through the TRI team, materially improving the value of the Sim UPRT exercises and further reducing the likelihood of accidents resulting from LOC-I.
3. FSTD Recurrent 3-year UPRT Programmes
Some airlines have an outline 3-year UPRT Sim programme in place but don’t yet have the detailed exercises developed to deliver truly effective training. We have created a detailed 3 year/6 Sim session programme that not just covers ALL of the UPRT regulatory requirements but also includes training that will help to deliver pilot resilience in avoiding, recognising and recovering from Flight Upsets. Feedback has included ‘Easily the best and most comprehensive UPRT programme we have seen’ and ‘The benchmark against which all other UPRT programmes will be judged.’

5. Audit of your existing UPRT Programme
Regulators have issued a variety of missives around UPRT, several of which refer to external studies and publications. A full understanding of the actual requirements – and understanding of the spirit as well as the letter of the regulations – is challenging without a detailed understanding of what has transpired. As the market expert in UPRT, with substantial experience in delivering this training for 17 years and as part of EASA RMT.0581 that has defined the regulations and requirements around UPRT, the Ultimate High Academy is perfectly positioned to audit UPRT Programmes. This can also include, where appropriate, suggesting Alternative Means of Compliance.
